Hello Everyone, with the economy what it is, and the widespread use of their funds it is reasonable to surmise that the larp alliance needs some help economically. in addition to tax-writeoff donations, being a non-prof will allow us to do many things such as fundraisers.
like most of you i completely understand the money crunch situation, as i myself am quite broke, but i also realize that there are those in the Alliance that have given countless dollars and hours to promote larp, and i think now its time we start taking care of the larp alliance.
to my understanding it has and will continue to be the goal of the Alliance to promote LARP in as low cost a way to encourage growth, but i also acknowledge that for the alliance to grow, it will need funds. as much as we may hate to admit it, everything requires money, and time. from the research into alternative weapon construction, to putting gas in the van that drives up north to ROC, to helping coordinate more widespread PC and NPC action in the games, both local, and long distance. It has become my dream as well to see LARP widely enjoyed and accepted, and i would like to make this dream come true.
which brings me to the ultimatum of this piont, we need to make some money for the Alliance. Wheather it be direct donations, or fundraisers, its time for us to do our part, take this group for example, someone is paying $20 a month to keep this running so we all know what is going on, and paying that money from their pocket, without even asking for payback from those that graciously use it. there are many of these things that are taken advantage of, and while it is the goal of these generous people to let everyone have fun for free, we are not set up to do so currently.
To this end I ask, beg, and encourage any who can to make donations, or perhaps better yet, come up with ways you can help the alliance with fundraisers, or services.
if you have any ideas or questions please email me at "miarus(at)dslextreem(dot)com" and i will do the best to help as much as possible.
I would Like to throw a BIG THANK YOU out there to Rick and Adrianne who have put so much of their lives into promoting our sport, as well as Ramsey and the many many others who do what they can to make ends meet, and make LARP survive.
Bane.
