    Dagorhir/Belegarth/Larp Alliance/Darkon Combat Cookout September 19th - 21st

Are you prepared for woods battles? For grown men hiding in trees with bows? For belly dancing beauties? For the minstrels to sing of your glory?

Join us!! Starting friday september 19th 2008 the battle begins. We will be gathering in the beautiful Los Padres national forest, Mt pinos about a little over an hour north of los angeles. Here are some maps and information about the location.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Pinos

    http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=34.81331,-119.126387&spn=0.027659,0.055618&z=15

The location is very easy to get to. From los angeles it's literally only a change of 3 roads. There is only one way in and one way out. Once you are there simply follow the signs and banners (and the smell of awesomeness) An adventure pass must be purchased (look for any store on the way with the little tree sign) for $15 per car (so car pool) for camping. But this is a free event. And we will be collecting no money, Period.

    Some things you MUST know!

-Fires at this point are still a no go because of the fire warning. Although this may change within the next 4 weeks

-Bring whatever food you will need (There will be one and only one communal cooking space, propane stoves are the only cooking source we have and they must be closely monitored as well as 3 buckets of water near by every source of flame)

-Water: 1.5 gallons per person, per day (for drinking, showering, washing and food). Keep a bottle of water with you at all times.

-First aid kit for personal use (We will have trained emt's onsite with us)

-Appropriate clothing: light clothes for during the day, warm clothing for at night (including hat and gloves).

-Bedding and shelter of some type; A good camp tent is
recommended along with warm sleeping bags. ( For anyone with out these things we will be building a large communal sleeping space.. O yeah!)

-Garbage bags - leave no trace!

-Any prescription medications, contact lens supplies (disposables work great), and whatever else you need to maintain your health and comfort in a remote area with no services.

    -Flashlights/headlamps and spare batteries.

    -Sunscreen lotion and sunglasses.

    -Good closed-toe shoes or boots.

Remember to be courteous to each other.. Leave your drama at your car. This will be the first meeting of all of us under one flag, And remember EVERYONE is welcome. Families, Fighters, Non coms, Larpers, Freaks of nature, Etc Etc.

I play up in this area all the time. It's absolutely gorgeous and very conductive to good gameplay.
I recommend bringing sanitary wipes as there is no water here.

And be prepared for a cold night.

****YOU MUST HAVE AN ADVENTURE PASS. You can buy them at a ranger's station or at one of the liquor stores in town. Look for the symbol of a tree and ADVENTURE PASS HERE. It's like 15 bucks.****
