This Group is for members of the IFGS or people who might just be interested in the IFGS. Anyone can join, membership is not moderated.

I came across LarpSpace the other day when I was looking at Ira's message board for Live Effects. A number of our old-time SoCal members have gone on to play in LE. One of the local Denver/Boulder members, Kaaren, has gone out to a couple of those games and is trying to get one run in Colorado for us IFGSers, to get a taste of the system. I'm interested to see what comes of that.

On the news front, our Fantasy Rules Committee and Publications Committee are putting the finishing touches on the 7th Edition of our Fantasy Rules. I don't know the publication plan, but I think the book will be ready sometime this year, if not before the start of next season.

Likewise, our new online Character and Item Registry has been up and running for several months now. We're in a massive legacy data entry phase which is scheduled to end by Oct. 1. At that point we will (hopefully) have the bulk of the data entered, and we can start really reaping the rewards of an online registry system. For players, this will help you keep track of your items (no more lost pink sheets!). For designers, this will provide us with better data about what items people have, what the average power level is for a particular level range, and what kind of stuff do people really like.

Locally, the Denver/Boulder chapter is running its next game on 6/28/2008. Called The Price of Peace, it's a world course (from what I understand) for character of all levels. I'm playing my Knight of the Golden Lion, and I'm pretty excited about the game - it's a continuation of a series I played in last year, and will also (hopefully) have a big impact on the politics and events in the Land of the Seven Tribes, our local game world.

That's it for now. If you know any IFGSers, encourage them to join LARPSpace if they haven't, and join the IFGS group if they already have an account.
